Nutrition heresy? Perhaps.
The received wisdom is that you should eat mindfully with no distractions, sat at a table with a knife and fork. Bla, bla, bla. To be honest, I do agree with that, but in helping real people rather than idealised diet saints, I know that eating in front of the TV is a guilty pleasure for many. As a nutritionist that specialises in weight loss, my starting point is to normalise healthful eating and eating to manage your weight, so TV dinners are fine by me as we all eat that way some of the time.

That is, when it’s snack food like chips or popcorn, bars of chocolate or bags of peanuts. Then, it’s a diet disaster. These recipes are a world away from sad microwave TV dinners. They are balanced and nutritious while also being incredibly delicious. They are part of my Weight Loss Clinic Programme and so fit my Eating Clean, But Keep It Lean framework. This is because they contain a balance of lean protein, good fats and healthy carbs.
