If you’re looking for that guaranteed group ice breaker, then look no further. From years of experience, I’ve found that trivia questions are a great way to get conversations jump-started. This book contains 75 sets of 15 questions with answers immediately following. In this way, you as the question asker can also participate. As a quizmaster, I’ve amassed these questions from pub quizzes that I’ve put together over the years. I made sure that I removed most questions where over half the teams gave an incorrect answer. So hopefully for you and your crowd, these tried and tested questions will be reasonably within your realm of knowledge. And let’s be honest, the more questions that are answerable, the better the experience. Also, I tried to make the questions/answers interesting. The kind where either you know the answer or you say, “I don’t know the answer but I really should.”
As you pose these questions, don’t regard them as absolutes. For instance, instead of “Name all of the Harry Potter films”, adjust it to “Name three of the Harry Potter films.” Or, when the answer is a number, give some leeway. As an example, instead of “In which year was Queen Victoria born?”, adjust it to “Within five years, in which year was Queen Victoria born?” If necessary, give clues (if you’re not taking part yourself). Give your audience a fighting chance. Make it fun. There are no prizes at stake in this book.
